When people are asked why they are studying Journalism, the reason they often give is because they want to write.
Everyone can write in their own style but I want to learn to write more creativly, but one major hiccup in my course is that I'm never writing what I want or even how to improve my techniques. And most importantly how can I approach companies to give me a chance.
In my first year lecturers always said you will learn this later, but the main struggle in media is being able to get your foot in the door, so I decided to write letters to publications for works experience and I got rejected by most of them, one of which did not hold back the extent of the harshness in their rejection, may I add.
So I'm half way through my degree and my confidence seems to be as big as that spec of dust you find in the corner of your room. My friends have put up with their share of my banters so when I tell them I'm finally starting Magazine Journalism, they always react the same way...FINALLY!
But now I have also found a new way to express myself.

Who did you apply to? And what did they say? This sounds fun.
